Eating Jarlsberg cheese daily may improve bone health

According to Norwegian researchers, one serving (57 grams) of Jarlsberg cheese helps prevent the weakening of bones without increasing cholesterol.

The research team discovered that other forms of cheese don't include these health advantages, which are specific to the Nordic dairy product.

 Cow's milk is used to make the nut-flavored, mild, semi-soft, and hole-filled Jarlsberg cheese. A town in eastern Norway is where it gets its name from.

Although they note that additional research is required, the researchers are hopeful that the cheese may help prevent osteoporosis and even diabetes.

It's unclear, though, if this association was exclusive to Jarlsberg cheese or pertained to all cheeses.

. The researchers examined 66 healthy women who consumed either 50 grams of Camembert cheese or 57 grams of Jarlsberg cheese daily for six weeks to find out.

All of the participants were in good health, with an average age of 33 and a healthy weight
