Asthma is a very common disease nowadays, especially among the aged people.  It is a lung disease which has been characterized by breathing problems and the difficulty that the person feels while breathing. Asthma is categorized into two types- one is acute and other is chronic asthma. Acute asthma is minor breathing problems. But asthma attacks may occur when it is chronic. An attack of asthma might be very serious for a person and even prove to be fatal if the disease is chronic. 


Asthma might cause many allergies, environmental factors, genetics, smoke, etc. Tobacco, respiratory infections and certain medications are also caused by the disease. The symptoms of asthma might vary from person to person. Shortness of Breath or Losing your breath easily is the major symptoms of asthma. Other symptoms might include frequent coughs and more frequent at night time, feeling tired while doing any physical activity, wheezing, and tightness in the chest all the time. 


Although there are so many medical treatments which are available to cure asthma but treating asthma at home is the best answer to the questions like, how to cure asthma at home or how to cure asthma attack at home. Here are some remedies which are the best way to cure asthma at home. 



Ginger is a well known relaxing agent for asthma patients as it is very helpful in reducing the inflammation in the airways. It helps in preventing the asthma attacks as well as it gives relaxation to the body. It helps in boosting the effects of medication and increases the relaxation of muscles. You can eat it in its raw form as well as can mix it with salt. There are some recipes that can help you, you can take ginger juice, honey and pomegranate juice and mix it up, then take this mixture thrice a day and you will feel the difference. 

  1. Mustard oil 

Mustard oil is another beneficial element which has been used for a very long time for relaxing the respiratory tracts. It is used for massaging the body by adding a little amount of camphor in it. Massaging gently on the chest and upper back helps in relieving the passages and helps in restoring normal breathing.

  1. Coffee

Coffee contains the contents of caffeine which are very good at dilating the bronchial tissue and can help in clearing the air passage. Consuming hot coffee is much recommended and it is also recommended that one must not consume more than 3 cups of coffee in a day.


  1. Garlic

If you consume garlic then it will also help you in clearing the air passage and hence can help you in proper breathing. You should boil 15 cloves of garlic in half a cup of milk and then consume it once in a day for best results. 


  1. Honey

Honey is one of the best remedies for many diseases and asthma is one of them. It is recommended that you should mix one teaspoon of honey in warm water and should consume it gradually. It will help in clearing the passages and eventually will help in proper breathing.



These methods are definitely useful for Asthma patients. Also, these do not have any side effects. So you can try these remedies along with your other medications. These asthma home remedies can be followed by those as well who have breathing problems so that they will not get into further long term trouble with problems like asthma.
